Birdie comes to local theater
|

The Sunnyvale Community Players will perform the popular 'Bye Bye Birdie,' a musical about a town all aflutter because a rock 'n roll idol is coming to give his last performance and a kiss to a local girl before he heads off to the Army. Sunnyvale resident Anna Traina (left) plays Ursula, one of the women swooning over rock star Conrad Birdie, played by Tim Leaser of San Jose. The other two players pictured are Shannon Smith and Rachel Spitzer (far right). Bye Bye Birdie will run Sept. 12 through Oct. 5. Thursdays 7:30 p.m., Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays 2:30 p.m. at the Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre, 550 E. Remington Drive.
