The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Auto burglary—Sept. 1, 1 p.m., 300 block of Dunsmuir Terrace. An unknown person removed a car stereo from a vehicle. The stolen item is valued at $500.

Felon in possession of ammunition—Sept. 1, 1:14 a.m., intersection of E. Awhanee Avenue and San Mateo Court. An officer found a man asleep in a parked, running vehicle. The officer determined the man to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The man also had ammunition in the vehicle. The ammunition was booked into evidence.

Speed contest—Aug. 31, 1:30 a.m., 1200 block of Hammerwood Avenue. An officer viewed two vehicles racing down a street. The officer arrested a man who drove one of the cars. The man was later released on citation. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Agitating a police dog—Aug. 31, 12:35 a.m., 900 block of E. Duane Avenue. A man became upset after having his vehicle impounded for 30 days. He walked past a fully marked patrol canine car and turned around and ran back towards the car. He taunted and agitated the police canine inside. An officer arrested and booked the man at public safety headquarters and later transported him to county jail.

Auto burglary—Aug. 30, 1 p.m., 600 block of Iris Avenue. An unknown person forced entry into a vehicle that was parked in an underground-parking garage. The person removed a stereo, amplifier and speakers valued at $870.
