The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Attempted theft—Nov. 7, 5:00 p.m., 1000 block of East Arques Avenue. Two men entered an establishment and purchased two personal digital assistant devices. They then exited, placed the items in their vehicle, and re-entered the store. They were stopped by employees while attempting to walk out with two more PDAs, using the original receipts as proof of purchases.

Resisting arrest—Nov. 10, 6:19 p.m., 700 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue. A Sunnyvale public safety officer was advised by a witness that he had overheard a woman tell a man not to point a gun at her. The witness also described both involved parties and their vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, and after pulling the man over, report that he refused to follow their directions and resisted physical contact. The man was taken into custody and booked.

Possession of drug paraphernalia—Nov. 10, 4:28 a.m., 1000 block of Morse Avenue. A male subject was stopped in his vehicle, and upon looking inside the vehicle, an officer noticed a glass smoking pipe in plain view. The man admitted that the pipe was his, and he was arrested, cited and released.

Strong arm robbery—Nov. 10, 1 p.m., 500 block of South Murphy Street. Officers responded to a victim who said an unknown man had pulled a bag containing $5,000 out from under her arm and fled the scene in a red vehicle. The victim felt her safety had been threatened as well.
