Burglary—Dec. 7, 6 p.m., 1200 block of Wildwood Avenue. Officers responded to a call about an automobile burglary. The caller said he had parked and locked his vehicle the night before, and the next morning, when he returned to his car, he discovered that his right rear window had been smashed. A CD player and several music CDs were missing from the vehicle.
Passing fictitious bills—Dec. 6, 9:10 p.m., 600 block of El Camino Real. A woman entered the business and paid for $9.88 worth of gasoline with a $10 bill that turned out to be counterfeit. After discovering the fake bill, the clerk stopped the pumps from dispensing gas. The clerk attempted to stall the woman, but she left the scene and did not ask for her change. Clerk was unable to provide the license number of the woman's vehicle.
Presenting false information to an officer—Dec. 6, 4:31 a.m., 1000 block of W. Evelyn Street. An officer observed a suspect sleeping inside a parked car with the engine running. The officer contacted the man in the car, and was given a false name. The man had outstanding warrants. The officer located a hypodermic needle and a syringe in plain view on the front passenger seat of the car. The man in the car displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked.
