Possession of a hypodermic needle—Jan. 4, 11:48 p.m., 300 block of East Weddell Road. Officers responded to a business on a report of a suspicious person. The person was contacted, and gave the officers a false identification. After searching the person, officers found a hypodermic syringe, and determined the person was under the influence.
Vehicle burglary—Jan. 4, 6:30 a.m., 900 block of Azure Street.
Early in the morning, a woman approached her vehicle and found the rear driver's side window had been broken. Sometime during the night, she believes someone broke into the vehicle. Missing from the woman's car was a handmade purse from the Fiji islands, containing her identification, some photographs and a small amount of cash.
Spousal battery—Jan. 4, 3 a.m., 500 block of East Washington Avenue. Officers, responding to a call of domestic violence, met with a woman who said her girlfriend of several months had pushed her with an open hand and was slapping her, and she had threatened to call the police.
Assault with deadly weapon—Jan. 4, 1:15 a.m., 200 block of Del Norte Avenue. Early in the morning, an officer responded to a man who claimed his longtime girlfriend had attacked him. The woman admitted that she had taken a kitchen knife out to pop the man's tires. The man said he had been attacked by her but was able to wrestle the knife away from her without sustaining injuries. The woman was arrested without incident.
