Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Battery—Jan. 29, 10:30 p.m., 600 block of Garland Terrace. During an argument, a man struck a woman he lived with approximately five times with an open hand. The woman told officers she feared for her safety.

Resisting arrest—Jan. 29, 3:15 p.m., 1000 block of West El Camino Real. Two men were causing a disturbance in a store while an employee attempted to make a delivery. One of the men was intoxicated, with watery eyes, a staggered gait, slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and person. He became uncooperative with officers, intentionally falling twice to slow them down, before being restrained and taken to County Jail.

Vehicle theft—Jan. 29, 9:34 a.m., 200 block of West Duane Avenue. Officers arrested a man suspected of stealing a car. After being read his rights, the man admitted stealing the vehicle. He was taken away and booked into County Jail.

Burglary—Jan. 23, 4:09 p.m., 500 block of East El Camino Real. Security guards from a store called public safety officers while struggling with a man who had taken two bottles of liquor and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. Both security guards were injured in the struggle with the man.

Vehicle burglary—Jan. 23, 7:19 a.m., 1100 block of West Olive Avenue. An unknown person entered a vehicle through the driver's side door and took a CD player, amplifier and man's wallet containing $240.
