The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Delaying or obstructing an officer—Jan. 30, 11:21 p.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Ave. After responding to a report of eight or nine men causing a disturbance in front of an establishment, police officers were directed to two men who may have had a handgun. While the men were being detained, four or five of the other men tried to interfere with the police work. One failed to obey officers' orders and was arrested.

Grand theft—Jan. 30, 7:30 p.m., 800 block of W. Maude Ave. After leaving his office on a Friday night, a man returned on Saturday to find that his laptop and a computer case had been taken without his permission. He later learned that a second computer had also been taken from the building.

Petty Theft—Jan. 29, 8:30 p.m., 200 block of W. Washington Ave. Security guards at a clothing store called the police after catching an uncooperative woman who had removed security tags from three shirts, hidden the shirts in her purse and attempted to leave the store. She was stopped outside the store and was forcefully brought inside. One of the shirts was recovered and the woman was arrested.

Restraining-order violation—Jan. 29, 7:30 p.m., 1300 block of S. Wolfe Road. A woman with a restraining order against a man was called by the man and asked to meet him for coffee. He also told her that he knew where she lived. The woman told officers that she is afraid of the man and fears for her safety.
