Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Battery—Feb. 8, 1:10 a.m., Olive Street and Pastoria Avenue. A woman got into a man's car and refused to get out. The man then drove to the Department of Public Safety, and while en route, the woman repeatedly hit him in the shoulder and arm. She also scratched him, leaving minor scratches on his neck and shoulder.

Possession of a controlled substance—Feb. 8, 12:11 a.m., Remington Drive and El Camino Real. An officer stopped a bike rider for being on the road after dark without a headlamp. During the stop, the man threw a small bundle containing a controlled substance on the ground. During a search of the man, a number of burglary tools were found, and the officer determined that the man was under the influence of a stimulant. The man also provided a false identification and date of birth.

Possession of drug paraphernalia—Feb. 7, 11:38 p.m., 1200 block of Lakeside Drive. An officer contacted a man and found that his license had expired. During a consensual search of the man's truck, the officer found a "crank pipe." The man was cited and released on the scene.

Possession of a controlled substance—Feb. 7, 5:59 p.m., Duane Avenue. An officer stopped an unknown man who was on private property after business hours. He was searching through a dumpster when the officer contacted him. He was found with a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was also found to be under the influence of the substance.
