Class for foreign-trained nurses

Nurses who were trained outside the United States can upgrade their skills so they can get a California license.

Mission College is offering a four-month, full-time program to help foreign-born and -licensed nurses living in Santa Clara County to pass the State Board LVN exams.

The program is a joint effort of the Regional Health Occupations Resource Center at Mission and the San Francisco Welcome Back Center.

Classes begin in May and run through August.

There will be an informal meeting March 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Mission's Telecommunications Building.

County job fair for licensed teachers

Teachers have an opportunity to find out what opportunities are available for them in Santa Clara County.

On March 20, the Santa Clara County Office of Education invites fully credentialed teachers to the Teacher Recruitment Fair at the SCCOE offices at 1290 Ridder Park Drive.

Preregistered applicants are welcome from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nonregistered applicants may arrive after 10:30 a.m. and must show their teaching credentials to be admitted.
