April showers bring May flowers, but even if the weather loses track of time, some Sunnyvale singers will visit the "beach" anyway.

Students from The Music School at the Presbyterian Church of Sunnyvale will debut their yearly musical on the weekend of May 1. Titled "A Day at the Beach," the musical features such songs as "Surfin' USA" and "Under the Boardwalk." The show opens at Mountain View High School at 3535 Truman Ave. in Mountain View.

Showtimes are 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on May 1 and 2:30 p.m. on May 2. The requested donations are $8 for adults and $4 for children and seniors.

Public safety needs
help finding suspect

An evening robbery at Quincy Liquors on El Camino Real has Sunnyvale public safety officers asking for witnesses to step forward.

At approximately 8:25 p.m. on April 20, a man in his late 20s or early 30s entered the store at 982 E. El Camino Real armed with a handgun. After receiving an unknown amount of money from the two store clerks, the man ordered the clerks into the back of the store while he fled out the front.

The man is described as 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing more than 200 pounds. He was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at 408.730.7120.
