The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Identity theft—June 2, 8:20 p.m., 200 block of Coronado Drive. A woman went to Department of Public Safety headquarters to report an identity theft. In the past month, someone had opened two different credit card accounts at Radio Shack in her name and charged $2926.79. The person also used the woman's existing Macy's account, bringing the total to $3,258.38. Before that, her Macy's balance had been $4.

Battery—June 2, 5:40 p.m., 600 block of Alberta Avenue. Officers responding to a report of a disturbance met up with a woman who had been hit in the chest by her husband of 21/2 years during a verbal argument. There were no visible injuries or complaints of pain.

Possession of drug paraphernalia—June 2, 5:38 p.m., 900 block of Helen Avenue. An officer was given permission to search a vehicle for illegal items during a vehicle check. He found a class cylinder, commonly used to smoke controlled substances, in the center console. The vehicle was towed on the scene.

Grand theft—June 2, 8 a.m., 600 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. An unknown person entered a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a supermarket. The person removed a $300 CD player from the dashboard and took a speaker box with two 12-inch subwoofers from the trunk.

Burglary—June 2, 1 a.m., 500 E. McKinley Avenue. Someone broke into a car and stole a green plaid book bag off the front seat. Later a woman from Lincoln Street called and returned books that had been in the bag.
