The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Under the influence of a controlled substance—June 24, 1:18 a.m., Linden and Maria avenues. Officers stopped a vehicle for driving without a license plate lamp. The driver and passenger consented to a search of the vehicle, and during the search, a glass pipe with a bulbous tip was located. Both people were found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, arrested and transported to county jail.

False impersonation—June 23, 10:23 p.m., 700 block of The Dalles. Three officers on foot patrol confronted several men in a park who were drinking alcohol without having a picnic, which is a violation of Sunnyvale municipal code. One man identified himself as a real person other than himself to avoid arrest and a court appearance. He ran off after his secret identity was discovered. He was arrested and booked.

Possession of a controlled substance—June 20, 9:25 p.m., E. El Camino Real and Maria Avenue. An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. The driver consented to a search and 0.2 gram of a white crystalline powder that tested positive for amphetamines was found. The suspect was arrested and later transported to county jail

Petty theft—June 20, 2:43 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. A woman exited a store without paying for a $49.99 bottle of Chanel perfume. She was placed under private person's arrest. She was contacted and released by officers after signing an agreement to appear in court.
