DDT is a product that
was wrongly banned
This is in response to Ed Johnson's letter in the June 16 issue of The Sun. I support him 100 percent on his statements about DDT. The lives of countless people all over the planet were saved by the use of DDT by helping to kill malaria mosquitoes. This includes countries like Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and Uganda, to name a few.
Since irresponsible environmentalists had DDT banned, malaria is returning with a vengeance. How can these people live with themselves?
To illustrate how benign and nontoxic DDT is, I used to rock climb with an entomology professor from San José State who achieved a great deal of fame by swallowing a spoonful of DDT daily to prove this point. That was at least 35 years ago, and he is still listed in the San Jose telephone directory.
It's truly amazing what influence these environmentalists have, without a shred of scientific evidence to back them up.
