Grand theft—July 16, 8 a.m., 600 block of E. El Camino Real. While checking out of a hotel, a man left his briefcase on top of his suitcase in the lobby. When he returned from the front desk, his briefcase was gone. It contained a laptop computer, cell phone, gift card to a Japanese department store and a business diary with personal photos inside.
Vehicle burglary—July 16, 2:30 a.m., 700 E. Duane Avenue. An unknown person entered a man's vehicle without his consent and removed a CD holder from his front visor, various CDs and a cellular phone from the center console. The vehicle did not have an alarm system.
Possession of cocaine for sale—July 12, 2:48 p.m., 900 block of E. Duane Avenue. Officers were called about a group of men harassing a young child. The men were seen leaving the scene in a black Suburban. After stopping the vehicle, officers found 1.6 grams of amphetamines and 0.5 grams of cocaine. They also found several hundred plastic baggies, an electronic scale, marijuana and smoking pipes. The driver was arrested for possession of cocaine for sale.
Court order violation—July 12, 1:35 p.m., 1100 block of Reed Avenue. Officers were called about a man driving his car toward the apartment of a woman with a restraining order against him. He was taken into custody and tested positive for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Additional drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in his vehicle.
