Possession of hypodermic needles—Aug. 22, 2:24 a.m., 200 block of W. Maude Avenue. An officer contacted the occupants of a car after a call about a suspicious vehicle. He conducted pat-down searches of the people, and one man admitted to having hypodermic needles in his jacket pocket. The officer found 10 needles that the man said he was holding for an unknown friend, but he did not have a prescription.
Possession of a controlled substance: cocaine—Aug. 21, 12:30 p.m., Oak Creek Way. An officer contacted a man he saw taking items out of a parked car and placing them on the sidewalk. The man appeared nervous and immediately put both hands in his pockets. As the officer went to pat the man down for weapons, he admitted to having crack cocaine in his pocket. The substance was taken from his right front pocket, and he was taken into custody.
Automobile burglary—Aug. 21, 1:45 a.m., 700 block of Vaqueros Avenue. Early Saturday morning, a woman found the driver's side front window of her car smashed and the in-dash stereo missing. There was glass debris inside and outside the car, and the area around where the stereo had been mounted was destroyed. Her purse, sitting inside the vehicle, was not taken.
Automobile burglary—Aug. 20, 11:15 p.m., 3100 block of Mission College Boulevard. A woman who had previously parked her car in a theater parking lot returned later that night to find her radio was missing. She also noticed that a CD was missing.
