The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Impersonation of another—Sept. 19, 11:54, 300 block of Weddell Drive. Officers contacted a man in a motel and asked for his ID, which he didn't have. He gave them another name, but his secret identity was revealed after he was searched. There was a $5,000 warrant out for the man's arrest.

Domestic violence, battery—Sept. 18, 10 a.m., 500 block of E. Ahwanee Avenue. A couple that has lived together for four years got in a verbal argument that turned physical. One hit the other three times on the back of the head, but there were no visible signs of injury or complaints of pain.

Possession of a controlled substance—Sept. 17, 7:02 p.m., 600 block of Grand Fir Avenue. Officers responding to a call of a possible drug transaction detained a man they saw trying to dump a glass pipe loaded with .1 grams of amphetamines. A test showed he was under the influence of a controlled substance. He resisted arrest, and the officers had to use force to take him into custody.

Possession of drug paraphernalia—Sept. 16, 8 p.m., Sunnyvale­Saratoga and Homestead roads. An officer stopped a car for driving with a 2004 sticker although the vehicle's registration had expired in 2003. The officer checked the driver's background and found she was driving on a suspended license. While searching the car, he found a glass smoking pipe in the trunk with white residue inside it. The driver was cited and released.
