Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Domestic violence—Oct. 2, 11:40 p.m., 1200 block of Oak Creek Way. Officers sent out to investigate calls of loud music and noisy parties met with a woman who said she feared her boyfriend—with whom she lived—was going to hurt her. While officers were recording her statement, the boyfriend arrived and was immediately arrested.

Burglary—Oct. 2, 9:30 a.m., 1200 block of Naranda Avenue. A man parked his car late at night, and when he returned to it in the morning, he found his driver's side window smashed. His stereo, CD holder and portable radio were all missing. Glass debris was found in and around his car.

Automobile burglary—Oct. 2, 1 p.m., 1200 block of Lakeside Drive. An unknown person slashed open the canvas convertible top of a car and stole a radar detector, XM radio remote control, $3 in loose change and a "Y" splitter cable.

Commercial burglary—Oct. 1, 5:50 p.m., 700 block of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. A man attempted to leave a supermarket without paying for a 1.75-liter bottle of vodka. When confronted by store personnel, he returned the vodka.

Resisting arrest—Oct. 1, 5:06 p.m., 1000 block of Reed Avenue. An officer attempted to stop a man for drinking a beer while riding a bicycle. He pulled up next to the man with sirens and lights on and told the man to pull over. The man said, "Leave me alone," and kept riding. He was found at a nearby house and arrested.
