The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Possession of a controlled substance—Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m., 500 block of E. El Camino Real. A man was stopped for riding his bicycle on a sidewalk. Before he stopped his bike, he threw a piece of foil away. The foil was found and it contained .1 gram of cocaine. A search of the man revealed a glass pipe of the type used for smoking controlled substances.

Possession of a controlled substance—Oct. 11, 12:57 a.m., 600 block of Grand Fir Avenue. A man was stopped and searched by officers. They found a glass pipe with a bulbous tip, loaded with .1 gram of amphetamines. The man was arrested.

Possession of a deadly weapon—Oct. 9, 1:22 a.m., S. Mathilda Avenue and W. El Camino Real. Officers searched a vehicle after a traffic stop and found that the driver had a metal, police-style baton. The other person in the car was found with less than 1 gram of marijuana.

Automobile burglary—Oct. 8, 7:30 p.m., 900 block of E. Duane Avenue. An unknown person smashed the passenger's side window of a car and stole the stereo. A set of keys left behind by the person was booked into evidence.

Possession of a controlled substance—Oct. 8, 7:03 p.m., 200 block of W. Iowa Avenue. During a probation search of a person's belongings, .6 gram of a crystalline substance, hypodermic needles and syringes were found. The substance tested positive for amphetamines and the person was arrested and booked into county jail.
