Damage to city property--Nov. 21, 10 a.m., 1400 block of Borregas Avenue. Two Sunnyvale city employees were spraying weeds on the northernmost levee of the San Francisco Bay trail north of the SMaRT Station. Unknown duck hunters fired a shot, and a pellet ricocheted off the water in the slough and struck the front windshield of the city's truck. The hunters were approximately 200 yards from the truck, and the pellet left a quarter-inch divot in the windshield.
Residential burglary with force--Nov. 20, 1:50 p.m., 800 block of Lakechime Drive. Just after 1 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress. Unknown people had entered a house without permission, ransacked several rooms and removed a locked safe containing valuables, jewelry and important documents. Surprised by one of the residents, one of the burglars displayed a handgun and fled the scene.
Prowling--Nov. 18, 4:59 a.m., 900 block of W. Evelyn Avenue. A man was seen fleeing from in front of a closed, locked business. He was found later by a K-9 unit, and a hypodermic needle was found near the scene of the arrest.
Burglary--Nov. 17, 11 p.m., 700 block of Morse Avenue. Officers responded to a school after someone entering a classroom triggered a silent alarm. An unknown person (s) had entered one room and stolen a Dell computer CPU.
