Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Vehicle theft—Jan. 17, 6:44 a.m., 400 block of Madera Avenue. During the night, someone stole another person's plum-colored 1996 Saturn sedan with Grateful Dead bear stickers on the lower driver's side windshield, rear bumper and rear windshield.

Theft—Jan. 15, 7:52 p.m., 100 block of Lawrence Station. Someone stole a woman's purse from her shopping cart. The purse contained her Social Security card, driver's license, debit card and a series of checks. She had already called to cancel the credit cards and checks.

Suspicious circumstances—Jan. 15, 9:12 a.m., 900 block of W. El Camino Real. A man wearing a hood climbed into a silver Toyota Avalon and attempted to steal it. He searched around inside for the keys. He was then seen running down the street toward Hollenbeck Avenue.

Domestic violence—Jan. 14, 5:33 p.m., 800 block of Borregas Avenue. A woman called public safety, and in the background a man could be heard pulling up in a vehicle. There was a sound of a hit, and then the woman groaned. The woman said he had pulled up in a silver four-door sedan.

Domestic violence—Jan. 14, 2:32 p.m., 600 block of Lakewood Drive. A man threatened to shoot his wife if she did not get out of their house. The man also took the woman's green card and all the money from their bank account.
