Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Grand theft—Feb. 3, 4:19 p.m., 1200 block of Lakeside Drive. A woman told officers that she had given maintenance personnel a copy of her apartment key. Later she found that several expensive pieces of luggage had been taken from a storage shed.

Theft—Feb. 2, 5:34 p.m., 100 block of Mango Avenue. A man locked his bike to a rack at school in the morning, and when he returned to it in the afternoon, it was gone. The bike was a 24-inch, silver Diamondback mountain bike.

Trespassing—Feb. 1, 10:08 p.m., 1200 block of Ayala Drive. A resident reported that his neighbor, who lives directly above him, entered his apartment without permission—while the resident was in the shower—to turn down a loud stereo.

Burglary—Jan. 31, 6:06 p.m., 1000 block of Pepper Avenue. A woman returned to her house and thinks that someone broke into it earlier in the day. She found her rear sliding glass door open.

Burglary—Jan. 31, 1:04 p.m., 1100 block of Lily Avenue. A resident returned home after being gone for three hours to find that the house had been ransacked. The house has not been fully checked for missing items yet.

Stolen vehicle—Jan. 31, 10:01 a.m., 500 block of Columbus Avenue. A woman's vehicle was taken on Jan. 30, but she did not report it stolen because of registration issues. The woman has since found her vehicle. It was parked on Morse Avenue in the back of the apartments.
