The investigation continues into a vehicular attack on a family that occurred at Evelyn Avenue and Red Oak Drive midday on Jan. 9.
According to Capt. Craig Farley, witnesses reported seeing 37-year-old Ngai Fung Fong deliberately drive his 4-door, compact car into four people who were walking near the road. He struck them twice before attempting to flee the scene. He was caught and arrested shortly after and booked into county jail on attempted murder charges.
Fong had been involved in a domestic dispute for which the officers had originally been called. But the officers were redirected to the scene of the accident. Farley could not comment on the domestic violence issue and did not know if there was any relationship between Fong and the victims of the accident.
All four victims were taken to medical care after the accident. The father and the 18-month old daughter were released, but the 5-year-old boy and the mother are still in the hospital. The mother's status is unknown, but the boy is in serious but stable condition.
In addition to the accident, Farley said there is a witness report of a possible carjacking that Fong may have been involved in, but public safety has been unable to confirm that story.
The Department of Public Safety is currently looking for an Asian or Indian women who was said to be driving an older model beige or gold Honda Accord. The woman may have been a victim of the alleged attempted carjacking.
Anyone with information on the case or the possible fifth victim should call detectives at 408.730.7120.
