The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Child abuse--March 19, 1:54 p.m., 500 block of E. Ahwanee Avenue. A woman in her mid-20s was seen in a parking lot beating a child with a belt. The child was 10 or 11 years old.

Battery--March 18, 10:54 p.m., 1300 block of Road Runner Terrace. Loud yelling was heard coming from Road Runner Terrace. The caller who reported it was unable to tell if it was a fight or just people having a good time.

Identity theft--March 18, 6:46 p.m., 600 block of S. Fair Oaks Avenue. Someone filled out credit card applications using another man's name and Social Security number.

Drunk in public--March 18, 6;15 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A man in his 40s was seen urinating in front of a crowd of people and later laying in front of the group. He was generally being a nuisance.

Residential burglary--March 18, 4:01 p.m., 1200 block of Valley Forge Drive. A resident returned home to find that his house had been ransacked. The house had not been fully checked for missing items at the time of the report.

Battery--March 17, 7:11 p.m., 600 block of San Juan Drive. A woman arrived at an apartment complex to pick up her children from her ex-husband. When she met with the man, he punched her in the chest.

Found property--March 17, 7:48 p.m., 600 block of Georgia Avenue. A woman's car was ransacked sometime over the weekend, and she found what she believed to be methamphetamines in the car.
