Memorial Day weekend will be rocking at Moffett Field as rock bands, troops and families turn out to celebrate those who serve in the armed forces and the people who support them.
The concert, sponsored by the American Red Cross and classic rock radio station KFOX 98.5 FM will feature the band MidLife Crisis, local bands and appearance by rocker and local DJ Greg Kihn.
The concert is to benefit Operation: Care and Comfort, a charity set up to help armed forces personnel and their families.
No alcohol will be allowed at this family event, but there will be food and drinks for sale, as well as vendor booths and special exhibits.
Attendance is free, but donations are encouraged. Gates open at 11 a.m. and attendance is limited to 2,000.
Event organizers are looking for donations of signs, portable toilets and raffle prizes. They are also hoping to find owners of old military vehicles who would be willing to display them at the event.
For information or to sponsor the event, contact Julie at 408.373.8635 or email troopsupport@comcast.net.
