Little League District 44 baseball and softball all-star tournaments get into full swing this week, and boys and girls from four Sunnyvale leagues--Metro, National, Serra and Southern--are competing in various age groups against competition from Mountain View, Los Altos, Santa Clara, San Jose, Cupertino and Campbell.
For two weeks, July 5-19, a ballgame can be found daily at one or more of Sunnyvale's parks--De Anza, Raynor, Washington, Fair Oaks, Ortega or Serra--or Sunnyvale Middle School. All weekday games begin at 5:30 p.m. Times for weekend contests vary. Complete schedules can be found at www.district44.leaguehost.net.
Senior softball
Sunnyvale Southern is the only league with a team in the 15-16 age bracket.
