The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Battery--Aug. 13, 2:26 p.m., 1100 block of Northumberland Drive. A man punched another man and drove off in a blue Mercedes.

Causing a disturbance--Aug. 12, 10:27 p.m., 900 block of Helen Avenue. A resident heard car tires screeching and then several people yelling in what sounded like a verbal dispute.

Commercial burglary--Aug. 12, 9:18 p.m., 700 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. A white woman, approximately 35 years old, stole two packs of cigarettes from a store and fled. She left in a red compact car with a male driver.

Vandalism--Aug. 12, 3:50 a.m., 400 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. An unidentified person was seen breaking into mailboxes in a parking lot.

Vehicle burglary--Aug. 11, 11:44 p.m., 1100 block of N. Lawrence Expressway. A customer's green sedan was broken into. The storeowner saw the person and left the store and took off after them.

Drunk in public--Aug. 11, 9:23 p.m., 300 block of W. El Camino Real. A white male in his 40s with shaggy blond hair was seen sitting in front of a rest stop bench, urinating on himself.

Grand theft--Aug. 11, 6:10 p.m., 900 block of Ponderosa Avenue. Unknown person(s) broke into a storage cabinet and stole a number of items.

Suspicious circumstances--Aug. 11, 4:20 p.m., 400 block of Madera Avenue. A maintenance worker caught a man attempting to steal tools from an apartment. The man fled on a bike.
