Three chances to hear candidates, issues
By Jason Goldman-Hall
Sunnyvale voters looking to get a better idea of who and what they're voting on in November have a number of opportunities in the coming weeks.

At 7 p.m. on Oct. 12, the Cupertino-Sunnyvale chapter of the League of Women Voters is holding a candidate forum in City Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Avenue. The two-hour discussion of local issues will also be shown on KSUN-15, the city's television channel.

There will also be an informational meeting on Oct. 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. At the meeting, league members will discuss the pros and cons of state propositions and local ballot measures.

That same night, the members of St. Cyprian Church will hold a candidate forum at 6:30 p.m. at the church at 195 Leota Ave.

On Nov. 8, voters will get to cast their ballots regarding a number of propositions, including parental notification of abortions, requirements for teacher tenure and the use of union dues for campaign contributions.
