A 22-year-old Sunnyvale resident will appear in Santa Clara County Superior Court on Nov. 16 to enter a plea on manslaughter charges.
Police arrested and booked Foster Jamaal Kimble Jr. on Oct. 31 after his father, Foster Jamaal Kimble, was found dead on the floor of a Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road apartment on Oct. 30. The senior Kimble was discovered by his ex-wife. The younger Kimble lived with his mother in San Jose.
Public safety officers were responding to a request for medical help when they found the elder Kimble at 3:30 a.m. At press time, the official cause of death had not been determined.
Deputy District Attorney Peter Waite said that an autopsy has been performed, but it could be several months before the results are in.
Kimble Jr. is currently being held on $250,000 bail. If the death is determined to be a homicide, it will be Sunnyvale's second in 2005.
