The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Suspicious circumstances--Nov. 5, 4:54 p.m., 400 block of E. El Camino Real. Two weeks ago, a woman loaned her car to a man she thought of as a friend. He took the car and has not returned with it, despite her attempts to get it back.
Under the influence of a controlled substance--Nov. 5, 10:55 a.m., 100 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue. A visitor to a local motel was supposed to have checked out earlier that morning, but had not opened his door to the manager. The manager suspected that the person may be under the influence of a controlled substance.
Drunk in public--Nov. 4, 10:47 p.m., 700 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. A 43-year old woman fell on her face. She was conscious and breathing.
Identity theft--Nov. 4, 8:30 p.m., 100 block of Beemer Avenue. A resident's identity was used to open a Sprint cell phone account in May of 2003. The account was closed in September of 2003. The resident does not know who opened the account.
Vehicle theft--Nov. 4, 1:16 p.m., 300 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. A 4-door, black 1991 Honda Accord was stolen from a N. Mathilda Avenue parking lot sometime between Nov. 3 and Nov. 4.
Threats--Nov. 4, 9:16 a.m., 700 block of S. Fair Oaks Avenue. A friend of a woman's boyfriend went to her house and told her "I am going to kill you," after her boyfriend was arrested.
