Everything from weekend retreats to diamonds to zamboni rides is up for bid on Dec. 1 at the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce's annual auction to benefit Sunnyvale Community Services.
Close to 200 items are available, 30 in a traditional oral auction and the rest in a silent auction. Many items--such as a week's vacation in the Bahamas and a 14-person Turkish dinner--have been donated by Sunnyvale residents.
There are also a number of gift certificates available, from stores such as Debbie Lyn's Costumes, Fry's Electronics and Citti Florist. And for sports fans, there are signed footballs from 49ers players, sailing lessons and a chance to meet a SaberCat player or SaberKitten cheerleader.
Dinner for the night has been donated by Il Postale owner Joe Antuzzi, with wine provided by the chamber. All proceeds from the auction go to SCS. Last year, the auction brought in $27,169. Guests are asked to bring a new toy, household item or bag of food to be distributed in the SCS Community Christmas.
Community Services is located at 725 Kifer Road. The auction runs from 5 to 7 p.m. For a full list of auction items--updated daily--visit www.svcommunityservices.org/auctionlist.html.
