Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Automobile theft--Feb. 18, 4:51 p.m., 900 block of E. El Camino Real. A resident reported his car stolen to the Department of Public Safety, but then he found it in a parking lot on E. El Camino Real. He was advised not to touch the car until public safety officers contacted him.

Drunk in public--Feb. 18, 4:21 p.m., 800 block of W. Ahwanee Avenue. A man reported that his son--an alcoholic who keeps saying he is going to enter a 12-step program--was in a fast-food parking lot in his truck and was very drunk.

Causing a disturbance--Feb. 18, 1:08 p.m., Old San Francisco Road. A resident saw two men standing outside a liquor store. One man was pointing a small silver handgun at the other.

Identity theft--Feb. 18, 11:04 a.m., 1300 block of Bittern Drive. An unknown person(s) used a woman's personal information to withdraw money from an account in Los Angeles. No one else should have known her information. She closed the account and planned to run a credit check.

Reckless driving--Feb. 18, 12:25 a.m., 700 block of San Justo Court. A man driving a green four-door Ford Explorer was running into things in a neighborhood. He hit a tree and other objects. He was driving in circles.

Automobile theft--Feb. 17, 10:46 a.m., 1000 block of Tasman Drive. A man's unlocked vehicle was "rifled" through, and items were missing. His wife's bike was also taken, and a bike of lesser value was left in its place.
