Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Drunk in public--April 6, 8:53 a.m., W. El Camino Real. A man was seen riding a public bus with an open container of alcohol.

Suspicious circumstances--April 6, 1:21 a.m., 600 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. An unknown man approached a woman and asked her to escort him to the rear of a building to help him with some car troubles.

Theft--April 5, 11:46 p.m., 100 block of Persian Drive. A man with long braided hair stole money out of a tip jar in a restaurant. He stayed at the scene after the incident.

Domestic violence--April 5, 9:07 p.m., 100 block of Oak Court. A woman called the Department of Public Safety after her husband left their home "very, very drunk." She said that she "can't handle him anymore."

Threats--April 4, 10:53 p.m., 1600 block of Ontario Drive. A man's son said he wanted to kill him.

Theft--April 4, 5:17 p.m., 1200 block of Vienna Drive. A woman's 10-speed green Roadmaster mountain bike was stolen. There was no record of the serial numbers on the bike.

Theft--April 3, 6:34 p.m., W. Evelyn Avenue. An unknown person stole the rear license plate off a Ford Ranger pickup that was parked at the train station.

Suspicious circumstances--April 3, 3:24 p.m., 300 block of W. Olive Avenue. A man received a letter from the attorney general's office in Texas regarding child support money. He said he has never lived in Texas and does not have any children.
