Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Theft--April 4, 11:59 p.m., 600 block of Begonia Way. A motor scooter, bicycle, air tank and high-pressure nozzle were stolen from a carport in a housing complex.

Found property--April 3, 5:22 p.m., 700 block of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. A woman's red wallet was found under a vehicle in a parking lot.

Automobile burglary--April 3, 7:46 a.m., 1200 block of Kifer Road. Three vans were broken into while parked overnight, and two spraying machines, each worth $2,000, were stolen.

Under the influence of a controlled substance­April 3, 1:30 a.m., 80 block of Acacia Avenue. A man called the police, sounding very paranoid and not making much sense. He may have been under the influence of a controlled substance. He said his name was being posted on the Internet, and he wanted to talk to an officer about it.

Hit and run--April 2, 1:22 p.m., 2000 block of Lakemuir Drive. A light-green Honda Civic hit a limousine outside a house and fled. Witnesses said the driver of the Civic looked like one of their neighbors.

Found property--April 2, 9:12 a.m., 700 block of The Dalles Avenue. A passing pedestrian saw a Little League equipment shed had been left open and unlocked. She closed the door, locked the lock, and left the key in the lock.

Missing person--April 2, 6:18 a.m., 1200 block of W. McKinley Avenue. A woman called the Department of Public Safety because her husband failed to return after going to meet a friend.
