Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Vandalism--April 22, 7:20 a.m., 1600 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. A passing neighbor noticed the lights on a building next to the main baseball field and snack shack at a ball field were destroyed.
Grand theft--April 21, 3:20 p.m., 1200 block of Rembrandt Drive. Someone stole $600 worth of tools and equipment out of an open garage.
Domestic violence--April 20, 8:22 p.m., 600 block of Iris Avenue. A woman wanted her husband, who was getting violent in their home, to leave, but he refused. She called the Department of Public Safety.
Suspicious sounds--April 20, 5:36 p.m., 700 block of San Jule Court. Someone reported a series of loud sounds that sounded like a dog being killed. The caller also heard what could have been muffled gunshots.
Possession of a controlled substance--April 19, 9:25 p.m., 600 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. A man who may have been under the influence of a controlled substance was seen loading items from a Salvation Army truck into his own silver truck.
Residential burglary--April 19, 6:27 p.m., 1200 block of Vienna Drive. Sometime in the past two days, someone entered a home through a window, left the blinds bent, and took a laptop computer and some credit cards.
Grand theft--April 19, 5:11 p.m., 1000 block of Bryant Way. Sometime in the last week, a man noticed a gun was missing from his home.
