Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Grand theft--May 6, 11:35 p.m., 600 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. A man's laptop was stolen from his hotel room earlier in the day.
Possession of a controlled substance--May 6, 9:27 p.m., Lockheed Martin Way. A Lockheed Martin security guard called the Department of Public Safety after finding a man who may have been mentally unstable or under the influence of a controlled substance.
Arrest violation--May 6, 4 p.m., 100 block of Pasito Terraces. A man under house arrest ran away, apparently to meet his cousin.
Drunk in public--May 5, 7:52 p.m., E. Maude Avenue. A man was seen standing on a corner, shouting and hitting parked cars. He was also carrying a bag of beer.
Suspicious phone calls--May 5, 7:34 p.m., 800 block of E. Evelyn Avenue. A heated argument was heard over the phone. One person on the phone was shouting "stop," and another person began confirming the address of the call before the call was disconnected.
Battery--May 5, 1:51 p.m., 700 block of Morse Avenue. Officers were called to deal with a student who had kicked another student.
Automobile burglary--May 5, 6:44 a.m., 1300 block of Socorro Avenue. The window of a maroon Toyota Corolla was smashed while it was parked on the street. The car's stereo was taken.
