Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Drunk driver--May 20, 9:16 p.m., 600 block of Arcadia Terrace. An intoxicated person driving a blue van crashed into a Dumpster.

Found property--May 20, 9:12 p.m. Someone found a purse on Tasman between Birchwood and Reamwood. The purse contained only miscellaneous items. There was no cash or credit cards. A message was left on the purse owner's home voice mail.

Residential burglary--May 20, 7:09 p.m., 1200 block of Lakeside. An unknown person broke into an apartment sometime between noon and 7 p.m. and cleared the apartment.

Residential burglary--May 20, 9:45 a.m., 1000 block of Cassia Way. An exterminator discovered his client's home was broken into and ransacked.

Automobile burglary--May 19, 9:38 p.m., 500 block of N. Lawrence Expressway. A gray Chevy HHR was broken into and a laptop was stolen.

Automobile burglary--May 19, 8:38 p.m., 500 block of N. Lawrence Expressway. The window of a white Voyager was smashed, and a laptop was stolen.

Residential burglary--May 18, 7:51 p.m., 600 block of Manzanita. Someone reported cologne, shoes and a watch were missing from the home. This was the second recent occurrence of missing items with no sign of forced entry, and the caller believed someone had a key to the home.
