Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Wellness check--June 10, 11:12 p.m., 400 block of E. Maude Avenue. A man called the Department of Public Safety requesting officers check on his as-of-today ex-girlfriend. He described her as having brown hair and a large mole on the side of her nose.

Tampering with a vehicle--June 10, 4:24 p.m., 1000 block of E. El Camino Real. The rear license plate was stolen from a parked car.

Grand theft--June 10, 9:11 a.m., 900 block of Hamlin Court. A woman left a black handbag on a dining room table for a few minutes, and when she returned, it was gone. She said there were more than $1,000 worth of travelers checks in the bag.

Theft--June 9, 7:45 p.m., 100 block of E. El Camino Real. A dark green electric scooter locked up outside a building was stolen. Police said the lock appeared to have been cut.

Fraud--June 9, 5:48 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A man attempted to cash checks with a fraudulent driver's license and use a bank account that was not his.

Found property--June 9, 3:52 p.m., 1000 block of Reed Avenue. A woman found a Nokia cell phone in her side yard and wanted a public safety officer to come pick it up.

ID theft--June 9, 1:51 p.m., 1100 block of Parkington Avenue. While checking his credit report, a man found a credit card had been opened in his name and billed to his old address in Los Angeles.
