The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Found property--July 1, 7:39 p.m., S. Murphy and S. Washington Avenues. Two bags of jewelry and miscellaneous merchandise were found on the sidewalk. It appears as if they were lost. The bags are leaning against a light post on the corner.
Theft--July 1, 3:02 p.m., 1600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. A woman's wallet was stolen while she was inside a store.
Failed attempt to drive through a tree--July 1, 3:44 a.m. N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone in a white Pontiac rental car ran the vehicle into a tree. When last seen, the man was trying to clean out the car and leave the scene.
Illegal burning--June 30, 8:07 p.m., 500 block of San Aleso Avenue. Three young men were seen lighting newspapers on fire in an apartment complex.
Request for assistance--June 30, 10:21 a.m., 1000 block of Bradford Drive. A man who had threatened a woman earlier in the day was found passed out in her house.
Identity theft--June 29, 1:59 p.m., 200 block of All America Way. A woman who left her driver's license on a photo copier at a drug store several weeks ago just received a bill from the Fremont Main Library for $340.
Grand theft--June 28, 6:48 p.m., 300 block of N. Wolfe Road. A man reported his Game Boy video game system and its accessories were stolen from his home in February, and he recently learned, according to the police report, one of the "neighborhood miscreants" who moved into the area was responsible.
