Rider spares the air,
risks a head injury

The most serious and sometimes fatal accident on a bicycle is caused from head injuries. Schools, police and other organizations are fighting a hard uphill battle trying to get all ages of bike riders to wear safety helmets. The July 5 Sun published a picture of Abraham Kou praising him for helping eliminate pollution by riding his bicycle. What disturbs me is that Abraham is not wearing a helmet. Photographs like this are very detrimental to the education of safe bike riding. All publishing media should be reviewed prior to publication for what impact it will have on the community. I am sorry to say this is rarely done.
