The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Petty theft--July 12, 11:38 p.m., 700 block of S. Wolfe Road. Two men were detained in the break room in back of a store after an altercation with staff. One of the men tried to punch the employee who called the police, and the other man jumped on that same employee while they were being taken into custody.
Automobile burglary--July 13, 6:37 a.m., 100 block of S. Bayview Avenue. Someone entered a GMC Jimmy that had been left unlocked. Several items were stolen, and a bloody knife was left on the front seat.
Possible mental patient--July 13, 4:30 p.m., 600 block of Gail Avenue. A 15- to 17-year-old boy was seen walking toward the back of a school. Witnesses said he jumped onto a bus and started preaching.
Fraud--July 13, 12:49 p.m., 900 block of Benecia Avenue. A woman's credit card was stolen from her purse at work and used in multiple locations. The victim may know the perpetrator.
Drunk in public--July 14, 12:19 a.m., 300 block of Greenlake Drive. Residents reported a small group of disorderly people gathering on PG&E property. Alcohol use is suspected.
Found property--July 13, 7:42 a.m., 700 block of All America Way. A man found a bike abandoned near his company's location and planned to turn it over to the Department of Public Safety.
Theft--July 14, 4:58 p.m., 900 block of W. Remington Drive. A woman's son's scooter was reported missing.
