The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Vehicle theft--July 22, 10:41 p.m., 800 block of E. El Camino Real. A man reported his vehicle stolen, but learned it was impounded in San Jose for blocking a roadway. There were apparently people in the car when it was impounded.
Theft--July 22, 1:56 p.m., 700 block of E. Duane Avenue. An unknown person stole the catalytic converter out of a man's 1995 Toyota Forerunner sometime in the early morning.
Missing person--July 22, 5:50 a.m., 100 block of W. Weddell Drive. A woman reported the man she lives with left the house at 2:30 a.m. to buy cigarettes and still has not returned three hours later. He has no known mental or medical conditions and is not considered at risk.
Theft--July 21, 9:56 p.m., 1200 block of Vienna Drive. Someone stole several checks from a man. He thinks it was his roommate's girlfriend, but told police there are several other people it could be.
Theft--July 21, 7:24 p.m., 1000 block of Blue Jay Drive. Sometime before 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., someone stole change and keys from a woman's unlocked Lexus. The vehicle was parked outside her house at the time.
Theft--July 20, 1:44 p.m., 900 block of E. Caribbean Drive. Sometime during the day, someone stole a man's wallet. The wallet was silver and made of duct tape and contained $40, a California driver's license, social security card and three credit cards.
