Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Possession of a controlled substance--Aug. 5, 4:16 p.m. 700 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. A man was reportedly selling methamphetamines out of his room.

Request for service--Aug. 4, 10:12 p.m., 300 block of Vine Avenue. Neighbors observed lights and movement in a house that should have been unoccupied. The owner lives in Santa Cruz and was not there at the time.

Drunk in public--Aug. 4, 5:28 p.m., 100 block of E. Washington Avenue. A man was seen by several pedestrians face-down on the sidewalk outside the front doors of a business.

Fraud--Aug. 3, 5:17 p.m., 200 block of Charles Street. A woman called the Department of Public Safety claiming to be the victim of identity theft. She said an unknown person opened up a Chase credit card account in her name without her permission, and now $181 is owed on the card.

Dog bite--Aug. 3, 8:01 p.m., 1500 block of Fraser Drive. A woman's dog bit her on the wrist.

Battery--Aug. 2, 2:18 p.m., 100 block of W. Evelyn Avenue. A woman was beaten by her boyfriend. She had bruises, bite marks, scratches on her chest and a broken toe. She declined medical attention.

Grand theft--Aug. 2, 7:43 a.m., 700 block of E. Evelyn Avenue. A man's black 27-speed Salsa bicycle was stolen. The bike's worth is estimated at several thousand dollars.
