Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Burglary--Aug. 19, 11:27 p.m., 1200 block of Oakmead Parkway. Someone broke into a parked Toyota Corolla and stole a purse.
Vehicle theft--Aug. 19, 5:10 p.m., 1200 block of Crescent Terraces. A woman told the Department of Public Safety her car was stolen between 6:30 the night before and 8:30 that morning. The vehicle is a green four-door Toyota Sienna. The vehicle was found in San Jose and towed by police officers there.
Theft--Aug. 19, 1:19 p.m., 200 block of W. Iowa Avenue. Someone stole the 2007 registration sticker off a man's 1999 Volkswagen Jetta.
Shoplifting--Aug. 18, 7:16 p.m., 700 block of S. Wolfe Road. The employees of a store called DPS to report they had detained a shoplifter in their back room.
Emergency--Aug. 18, 6:51 p.m., 700 block of Daffodil Court. A man came out of Braly Park covered in blood.
Request for assistance--Aug. 18, 6:33 p.m., 900 block of Linden Avenue. A man called DPS for his daughter, saying she had a restraining order against her boyfriend, and he was at her home refusing to leave.
Theft--Aug. 18, 3:56 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A woman said someone stole the Mercedes emblem off the hood of her car sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Dog attack--Aug. 18, 2:25 p.m., 1200 block of Sargent Drive. A resident reported that in July, their dachshund bit them on the nose, breaking the skin.
