Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Residential burglary--Sept. 9, 10:25 a.m., 1200 block of Poplar Avenue. Someone broke into a nearly completed house and stole a microwave.
Residential burglary--Sept. 8, 6:08 p.m., 300 block of Acalanes Court. A man believes his roommate stole $1,000 and a set of keys from his bedroom. The roommate was in the house while the call was being made. He denies the theft.
Drunk in public--Sept. 8, 5:25 p.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. A man in his 50s was seen sitting on a bench, yelling at and talking to himself in front of a business.
Theft--Sept. 8, 3:49 p.m., 1600 block of Ontario Drive. A man said that someone stole his shoulder bag out of his unlocked car while it was parked in a carport. His ID cards and passport were inside the bag.
Residential burglary--Sept. 8, 12:38 p.m., 1100 block of Morse Avenue. A man's apartment was broken into. He thinks it may have been the previous residents. There has apparently been an ongoing issue between the two parties.
Theft--Sept. 7, 7:44 p.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. Ten empty beer kegs were taken between the mornings of Sept. 5 and 7 from behind a business. The loss is approximately $350.
Theft--Sept. 7, 5:29 p.m., 500 block of Fall River Terraces. A woman's purse was stolen in May, but she did not report it at the time. Her California driver's license, credit cards and a calling card were inside.
The calling card was recently used in Morgan Hill.
Found property--Sept. 7, 5:19 p.m., 1000 block of Helen Drive. A man found a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance he believed to be marijuana on his driveway. He wanted the Department of Public Safety to dispose of it for him.
