The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Found property--Sept. 28, 2:29 p.m., 700 block of All America Way. An employee for a junk collection company found a rifle in a work truck and no one seems to know how it got there. The gun is a Ruger .357 and is not registered.
Commercial burglary--Sept. 28, 8:36 p.m., 1100 block of W. El Camino Real. Someone was shown on a security camera entering a store at 3:10 a.m. Two employees of the store chased the man out.
TheftSept. 27, 2:24 p.m., 600 block of E. Taylor Avenue. A man called on behalf of the executor of a will and said a security guard at an estate house was removing items without permission.
Collision with tree--Sept. 27, 12:06 p.m., 500 block of E. Fremont Avenue. A car hit a tree, and the driver attempted to back away and leave the scene. The car--a gold or tan Toyota Camry--had a flat tire and was leaking some type of fluid.
Theft--Sept. 27, 9:05 a.m., 600 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. A woman left her wallet in a shopping cart. When she turned her back, the wallet was stolen. The stolen wallet contained a Mexican consulate card in her name, medical coverage cards for her children, school ID cards and $200 cash.
