Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Theft--Oct. 21, 10:59 p.m., 1100 block of N. Fair Oaks Avenue. A woman's wallet was stolen from her purse while it was in a coatroom. The wallet contained her driver's license, credit cards and $118 in cash.
Grand theft--Oct. 21, 11:04 a.m., 300 block of N. Wolfe Road. Two bikes that had been left chained and locked together were stolen from a resident's balcony.
Hit and run--Oct. 20, 1:20 p.m., W. El Camino Real. A white Toyota Camry pulling out of a bank parking lot hit a woman's car. The Camry driver asked the woman if she had insurance, and when she said no, he drove away.
Found property--Oct. 20, 1:17 p.m., 600 block of Harrow Way. A set of keys was found in Ortega Park. They included a Honda car key and a yellow Intel figure.
Vandalism--Oct. 20, 11:04 a.m., 700 block of Ramona Avenue. A resident reported vandalism to city property after seeing a car doing doughnuts or "sideshows" on the lawn of a city park.
Burning trash--Oct. 19, 10:39 p.m., 600 block of Iris Avenue. A resident said someone left a large bag of garbage on the resident's porch and set it on fire.
Drunk in public--Oct. 19, 8:21 p.m., 300 block of W. Olive Avenue. A woman called the Department of Public Safety to say that her friend was drunk and throwing things around her apartment. She also said her friend had hit her in the head with a toolbox.
