Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Suspicious circumstances--Oct. 28, 7:09 p.m., 1300 block of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. A white four-door Saturn appeared in a resident's driveway at 9:30 a.m. Nobody has been seen in or around the car.

Vehicle theft--Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m., N. Mathilda and W. Maude Avenues. A woman was involved in a two-car crash. The other driver drove off, but the woman followed him to an auto parts store.

Theft--Oct. 27, 6:26 p.m., 1000 block of Blazingwood Drive. The rear license plate was stolen off a man's car by an unknown person.

Theft--Oct. 27, 3:43 p.m., 900 block of Henderson Avenue. An 18-inch unfinished steel knife, a half-inch thick with holes near the handle, was stolen from the front of a man's house.

Injury on city property--Oct. 27, 12:25 p.m., 800 block of Lakechime Drive. A player on a basketball court fell down, hit his head and couldn't remember what happened.

Theft--Oct. 27, 12:12 p.m., 900 block of Gail Avenue. A woman left her car parked unlocked on her driveway with her purse on the seat. When she returned to the car 10 minutes later, the purse was missing.

Unauthorized mobile home--Oct. 27, 8:59 a.m., Newfoundland Drive. A gold van was seen parked near a resident's home. According to the resident, a man parks the van there frequently and sleeps inside. The resident did not know if the man was currently in the van.
