Rash of burglaries
needs to be reported

We are disappointed with the Sunnyvale Sun's lack of coverage of the recent wave of burglaries in our communities in your latest issue (Jan. 3). You provided an extensive article on the Ponderosa Park Neighborhood Group, with no mention of any recent crimes in the area. We live in this neighborhood, and are aware of multiple burglaries that have occurred within the past few weeks alone. In fact, the Department of Public Safety distributed fliers on everyone's doorstep over a month ago, warning of possible break-ins.

We enjoy reading the Sun on a weekly basis but feel strongly that a community newspaper should enhance neighborhood safety and communication. You are in the unique position of not only pointing out items of which we should be proud, but also real threats of which we should be aware.

We implore you to rethink your priorities when it comes to providing updates on our wonderful city.
