Rubble: Demolition has begun on the vacant Town Center shopping mall building in downtown Sunnyvale.
Town Center Update

In a new series, The Sun will update readers on the $400 million Town Center redevelopment project headed by Sand Hill Property Co.
New fencing is being installed along W. Iowa Avenue to cut down on dust and noise from demolition work. The fence is expected to be painted after it is completely installed.
The former WHL Architects & Planners Inc. building at 250 Mathilda Ave. is expected to be demolished the week of May 27.
Crews have completed the primary digging on W. Washington and W. Iowa avenues to locate underground utilities. The city also issued a permit to allow digging for the center's office building and underground parking garages.
City officials and developers will show an informational display of the Town Center project at from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., June 14 at Plaza Del Sol, 200 W. Evelyn Ave.
