Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Illegal weapon--Feb. 3, 2:54 a.m., 100 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue. Someone heard three people fighting in front of Pacific Inn of Sunnyvale.

Battery--Feb. 3, 2:32 a.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. Someone reported a battery at Abyss Nightclub.

Theft--Feb. 2, 5:35 p.m., 200 block of W. Iowa Avenue. Someone stole a wallet that was left in the Target café area.

Auto theft--Feb. 2, 2:54 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. Someone stole a 2006 Land Rover Sport HSE with no license plates.

Identity theft--Feb. 2, 1:41 p.m., Someone used the victim's personal information to open a credit card account and make an address change and fraudulent charges.

Theft--Feb. 2, 11:09 a.m., 600 block of S. Knickerbocker Drive. Someone stole a bicycle and possibly other items from a garage.

Auto theft--Feb. 1, 10:48 p.m., 700 block of E. Ahwanee Avenue. Someone stole a two-wheeled utility trailer from in front of a house.

Auto theft--Feb. 1, 11:20 p.m., 1000 block of Reed Avenue. Someone stole a four-door Honda Accord.

Auto burglary--Feb. 1, 6:37 a.m., S. Bernardo Avenue at W. McKinley Avenue. Someone broke a window and burglarized a Ford Ranger.

Auto burglary--Feb. 1, 7:05 p.m., 100 block of E. Evelyn Avenue. Someone tried to carjack the victim 20 minutes earlier.

Theft--Feb. 1, 4:30 p.m., 600 block of W. Olive Avenue. Someone stole a wallet from a woman's purse at the Sunnyvale Public Library while she went to get a book, and then charged $300 on her debit card at Target.

Hit and run--Feb. 1, 8:49 a.m., E. Duane Avenue at Morse Avenue. A man reported that someone driving a truck hit him while he was walking his dogs. He was able to jump onto the hood of the vehicle and was not injured.

Auto burglary--Feb. 1, 7:50 a.m., 1000 block of Escalon Avenue. Someone stole a GPS device from a Honda Accord.

Residential burglary--Jan. 31, 7:37 p.m., 800 block of Jasmine Drive. A woman returned home and found that someone had entered from the side door.

Auto theft--Jan. 31, 7:33 p.m., 100 block of E. Fremont Avenue. Someone stole a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner.

Residential burglary--Jan. 31, 6:39 p.m., 700 block of KOA Court. Someone damaged a back door and window screen.

Grand theft--Jan. 31, 12:50 p.m., 1300 block of Crossman Avenue. Someone stole a projector worth about $2,000 from an unlocked room during normal business hours, possibly on Jan. 25.

Burglary--Jan. 31, 3:50 a.m., 400 block of W. Java Drive. Someone broke into a recycling shed at Network Appliances within the previous hour.

Auto burglary--Jan. 31, 3:32 a.m., 1000 block of W. Olive Avenue. A woman said she chased off a person who had broken into a vehicle.

Auto burglary--Jan. 30, 8:58 p.m., 1100 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone burglarized four vehicles in the parking lot of Faz restaurant.

Missing person--Jan. 30, 9:28 a.m., 1200 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. A 91-year-old man escaped from a bus while the driver was knocking on a door for two minutes.

Theft--Jan. 29, 6:16 p.m., 1200 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone stole a Gucci purse from an unlocked vehicle with $400 cash, a checkbook, credit cards and a phone book with family names and social security numbers.

 

Robbery--Jan. 28, 12:03 p.m., 100 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue. A robbery was reported at Pacific Inn of Sunnyvale.

Rape--Jan. 28, 3:10 a.m. A rape was reported.
